For nearly 20 years, DCBX has been far more than a festival.

It has been a place where friendships were born, relationships blossomed, dance journeys began, and lives were transformed. Together, we’ve celebrated culture, music, movement, and the connections that bring us together from around the world.

Today, we are writing to you with heavy hearts.

After careful consideration and guidance from Kat’s doctor, we have made the difficult decision to postpone DCBX 18.

Anyone who knows us knows this was not an easy choice. Throughout the years, the DCBX team has always found a way to move forward. We have overcome challenges, obstacles, and countless sleepless nights because we believe deeply in this community and what DCBX represents.

But this season of life is asking something different of us.

Right now, our focus needs to be on the health and well-being of our family and the newest member of our family who will soon be joining us. While our hearts were set on celebrating DCBX 18 with all of you this August, we know that taking care of our family is the right decision.

The good news is that DCBX 18 is not canceled. It is simply postponed.

New dates will be announced soon, and all purchased tickets will automatically transfer to the new event dates. Your place in the DCBX family celebration is secure, and we cannot wait to welcome you when the time comes.

As we reflect on this decision, we are overwhelmed with gratitude.

Thank you for nearly two decades of support. Thank you for every dance, every hug, every late-night conversation, every volunteer hour, every performance, every workshop, and every memory.

Thank you for helping us build one of the most passionate and loving communities in the world.

DCBX has always stood for connection, culture, wellness, and family. Today, we are simply honoring those values ourselves.

This is not goodbye.

This is a pause.

A pause to focus on health.

A pause to focus on family.

A pause that will allow us to return stronger and celebrate together again.

We love you. We appreciate you. And we look forward to sharing the next chapter of DCBX with all of you very soon.
